Why should lack of money stop us from realizing a dream?
Here at the International High School of New Orleans, some of our students have demonstrated a remarkable work ethic, attitude, and commitment to academics. We have decided to reward their hard work and commitment by planning a 10 day educational tour of France and Spain to depart April 2014. These students have demonstrated these promising academic qualities while beating many odds in their personal lives. Why then, should the lack of money be the reason such well-deserving students are kept from realizing a dream and realizing a life-changing opportunity? Read our students' words here and donate now to make this dream come true!
"This trip is very important to me because it gives me a chance to experience other cultures and see the world outside of America. If I don't get to go, then I might never have another chance. It costs a lot of money to travel and my parents are already working really hard to provide for my siblings and I. Opportunities like this don't come always."

Why travel?Travel changes lives. Literally. And it's measurable; research shows that students who travel are more likely to pursue higher education and develop an increased enthusiasm for learning. Here at the International High School of New Orleans, we have a strong language program. This trip will be a great opportunity for these students to get to know first-hand the native countries of the languages they are learning to speak or have been speaking for years in their language immersion program. Give our kids this opportunity and donate today!
"I've always wanted to travel to France because I have taken French for many years. I started to learn the language at the age of 5 and I will continue to do so for many years." - Jy Nero, 9th Grade IHS Globe Trotter |
Why support us?
The International High School of New Orleans is an open enrollment public charter school in New Orleans. We are a very diverse school, with students from over 40 different countries. IHS is the only public high school in New Orleans to offer a language immersion program for French and Spanish and to offer Arabic and Mandarin taught by native speakers. Additionally, we have the very advanced International Baccalaureate program.
But why support us? The International High School has all of the qualities above WHILE STILL BEING A TUITION-FREE OPEN-ENROLLMENT PUBLIC SCHOOL. We accept everyone As a result, over 75 % of our student body is on free/ reduced lunch and 25 % are either English language learners or have special needs and disabilities. Therefore, our IHS Globe Trotters - very well deserving students who will be traveling to Europe next year - need YOUR help to make this opportunity come to fruition. Donate today to help us out! |
